My last post was about imagination and creativity. This post is to elicit feedback from all of you out there on how you use your imagination and creativity.
Sometimes when we don't feel we have much creativity in our lives or that we lack imagination, we really sell ourselves short. I say this because maybe your job seems mundane or boring. Maybe your personal life is filled with honey do lists, and personal task lists that you feel don't allow you to use your imagination or creativity. Maybe this is true, maybe it is just a matter of changing your outlook and deciding that you are going to find new ways to do that job, or using your imagination to change that honey do list into a challenge. How can you do those things where you can use your imagination to make something creative out of that "chore" like task you must do....
So think about this, I challenge you out there to tell me how you use your imagination to create a life that is filled with more than just the mundane.......
I'll be waiting. Thanks!

Hmmmmm....some excellent points to ponder. Creativity comes in many forms, whether it is the "Great American Novel" that has been rattling around in the back of your mind for years or perhaps the simple "something special" that you add at the nightly dinner table (candles, a single flower in a vase, etc). Everyone has a creative side, you just have to find it. It doesn't have to something studendous like Van Gogh's Mona Lisa, just something that may be unique to you.
Years ago, a friend taught me to crochet and I have been a crocheting fool ever since. In turn, I taught several others to crochet. I finally admited the the "student surpassed the teacher" when a dear friend of mine proudly displayed a beautiful afgan that she made. Now, don't get me wrong, I have to admit that I have made some pretty nice afgans myself, but hers was so different from mine even though we used the same stitch. It was the fact that she put her something special into the afgan she created. So it really doesn't matter WHAT you create, but rather that SPECIAL touch that is yours and yours alone.
A challenge, well you KNOW how much I like a challenge....I LOVE sented potpourri, but the only problem is that it is so expensive. I found a patch of lavender growing in an abandoned property and I happened to have a jack knife with me, so I cut several large bunches. I took them home and tied them into smaller bunches and hung them on the front porch to dry, being careful not to let them get wet. After about two weeks, I spripped all the dried flower buds off and put a handful into a bunch of little sacks I had made. I then put them in closets, dresser drawers, among the bed linnes, gave some away to friends. I probably had enough to fill several large bags like those you see in the craft stores and it didn't cost me anything except a small bit of time to make and seal the bags (which I made from scrap material. How simple!
